Support Janique Venter’s Journey to Healing Childhood Cancer

janique venter

With hearts full of gratitude, we stand in awe of Godโ€™s incredible grace and power, lifting His name in praise for the miracles He continues to perform in our lives.

Today, we share life-changing news that fills us with hope: Janique Venter is preparing to travel to Texas for a critical operation to remove her ganglioneuroma tumorโ€”a procedure not available in South Africa.

This evening (7/01/2025), Janique’ s family will head to Cape Town to apply for their visas. With Godโ€™s provision and your prayers, once approved, they will board a flight to Texas to give their precious little girl the vital chance for complete healing. Iโ€™m absolutely delighted to finally meet Janique and her parents for the very first time!

What a testament to faith and perseverance! We serve a God who still works miracles, and we trust fully in His perfect plan for Janique’ s life.

As they embark on this challenging yet hopeful journey, we humbly ask for your continued support. Donations can be made directly to Janiqueโ€™s account, or you can use the provided donation platforms, and we will ensure the funds are transferred directly to the family. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps bring Janique closer to the bright future she so deeply deserves.

Thank you for standing by us over the years. Your prayers, generosity, and unwavering belief in the power of hope have made all the difference. This is the best news 2025 coud bring us – this is Janique’s year of healing and full restoration.

Let us continue to stand together as a community of love and support.

With gratitude and faith,
Karin & the Arms of Mercy Team

Shine a Light on Childhood Cancer: Support our BackaBuddy Campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

shine a light on childhood cancer - arms of mercy npc

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month โ€” a time when we come together to support the brave children and families fighting a battle they never chose. The need is profound, and the stakes are high. Parents are struggling to afford the treatment plans their children urgently require. Medical aids are quickly exhausted, and the emotional toll is overwhelming, with many parents grappling with PTSD. To add to this burden, children with cancer must adhere to specific, often costly diets that are essential to their care.

Arms of Mercy NPC stands as a beacon of hope, driven by a community of compassionate hearts dedicated to serving these children in their darkest hours. For countless families, navigating the treacherous waters of severe illness without the safety net of medical aid or financial assistance is a daunting reality. Our unwavering commitment is to raise funds that serve as a bulwark against the financial strain accompanying these diagnoses.

It helps cover the staggering costs of emergency surgeries, ongoing medical care, and specialized treatments and therapies that are often unavailable within our borders. In todayโ€™s economic climate, exacerbated by the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for collective support is more urgent than ever. Few families can bear this burden alone, and thatโ€™s why your help, no matter the amount, is invaluable.

In this month of awareness, we have a profound need to be the voice for the voiceless. We implore our community not to look away, but to stand with us, hearts open, as we illuminate the path toward healing for those who lack the means or the voice to advocate for themselves.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month – Join the Fight Against Cancer this September!

childhood cancer awareness month-armsofmercy.org.za

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

In South Africa, an average of 800 to 1000 children are newly diagnosed with cancer each year. Childhood cancers share general symptoms with other illnesses; knowing the warning signs can be vital in early detection and treatment.

According to a 2014 report by the American Cancer Society, it is now estimated that one in 408 children worldwide will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 15. It is estimated that currently less than half of children with cancer in South Africa are diagnosed, and many of those who are diagnosed are in advanced stage of illness. One of the reasons for this is a lack of awareness and knowledge in parts of the health system regarding the early warning signs of childhood cancer. – www.gov.za

It is important to know that cancer in children tend to be different from cancers in adults. The majority of them occur in the developing cells like blood, bone marrow, the kidneys and tissues of the nervous system.  The CANSA Childhood Cancer Awareness Programme aims to educate the public on the early warning signs. In South Africa, the St Siluan Warning Signs for Childhood Cancer are used.

Supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, honoring the taken, and never ever giving up HOPE
