“Zobuhle “Zoe” Thebe is an 8-year-old bubbly, energetic and confident little girl who loves singing, dancing, being outdoors and making new friends. She has always had a big personality and enjoys speaking and presenting in front of people. Last year, she was proudly awarded the Orator award at school.
In April 2026, our family’s world changed when Zoe was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. What followed were months of intensive chemotherapy, hospital stays and many difficult days. Despite everything she has faced, Zoe has continued to show incredible strength and courage.
Today, Zoe is in remission and preparing for a bone-marrow transplant in October. She still has a long road ahead, but she continues to find reasons to smile, dance and sing. Her faith has also remained a great source of strength. One of the things she often reminds us is, “Our God is stronger and bigger than all this.”
Zoe dreams of getting healthy, returning to school, seeing her friends and teachers again, going back to church and simply enjoying being a child. She also hopes to share her story publicly one day to create greater awareness about childhood cancer and encourage other children going through similar journeys.
