Powered by Love Bracelets for Peet Pretorius – Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia
Peet Pretorius was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) on the 6th of April 2017, after almost a year of walking with unbelievable pain in his legs.
At first, three doctors and a pediatrician reduced it to growing pains. It was only after an Orthopaedic surgeon extracted bone marrow that they discovered the root of the problem, and Peet immediately started chemotherapy.
Five months later he received a bone marrow transplant after being diagnosed with the Philadelphia Chromosome. His sister was his 100% match, and after three months in the Groote Schuur and Rooikruis hospitals, they could go home.
In between it all, Peet got GVHD so bad that it became life-threatening.
29 September 2018: He is still on cortisone treatment and commute to Bloemfontein weekly for blood tests and check-ups. Their hospital bills and fuel expenses are immense. Please help us to raise funds for Peet and his ongoing medical expenses.
In March 2019, Peet was admitted to Albert Luthuli Hospital in Durban with meningitis. On the 5th of April we were updated with the sad news that the cancer has returned. Please support our bracelet fundraising initiative for Peet, together we can make a significant difference in his life with each contribution to his ongoing medical expenses.
