Fundraising for Anzé van Breda – Stage IV Neuroblastoma and Bone Cancer

Anzé van Breda

Anzé`s story:

Anzé van Breda is a 12 year old little girl who was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma and Bone Cancer on the 19th of April 2020.

She started complaining about leg, joint and pelvic pain, and was also experiencing constant fatigue. On the 7th of April 2020 she was taken to the doctor to undergo a sonar for a pelvic tumour. The outcome did not look good and she was hospitalised in Boksburg where she had undergone more tests.

Blood tests revealed that she had cancer and she was transferred to the Paediatric Oncology Ward at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Johannesburg for further tests.

On the 19th of April 2020 they received the grim news that Anzé has Neuroblastoma stage 4 combined with bone cancer. The pelvic tumour had metastasized and formed 4 lumps in her skull which they scheduled to treat with chemo.

On the 20th Anzé went into theatre to receive her chemo port. While under anaesthesia her lungs collapsed and a tube was inserted to assist her with breathing. That afternoon she received her first chemo session.

On the 22nd and 23rd of April she received her second and third chemo sessions, and the tube assisting her lungs with breathing was removed. The chemo therapy thus far is working and the lumps in her skull have started to shrink.

She is currently back at hospital and receiving a three day chemo course, but depending on blood tests, she might only have to complete two days.

Her parents do not have medical aid, and they need to cover the chemotherapy and possibly other medical costs. If their daughter`s condition worsens they will need to be able to create a suitable environment for her at home.

Please help us to fight for Anzé by supporting the Arms of Mercy bracelet initiative. Together we can make a significant difference in her life going forward.
